Beans first hair cut

Sawyer, age 3.

When it comes to our kids we have always been big on letting them make choices for their own bodies. One thing that this means is that our kids (yes, even our boys) can grow their as long as they'd like and if they ask for it to be cut then we cut it! It's really as simple as that since it's their hair/body! Sawyer just turned three this past April and has been asking for a little over a week now for his hair to be cut for the first time. I kept showing him pictures and explaining how it would work and that once it's cut it can take a bit to grow back. Since he's 3 I just wanted to make sure that he understood what cutting it meant, especially with this being the first time he'd ever have a hair cut. Once he understood and kept saying that he wanted it, I took him to our favorite barber shop in town, Rippees Barber Shop ! They're always so great with our kids there and we just love their style when it comes to cuts, so I knew his first cut needed to be by the guys there! Now, you know me, I took the camera along with me and documented it all. I was a little worried we would get like halfway through the cut and he'd be over it but he sat so well through the whole thing and got his lollipop at the end! So here we go....follow his hair chopping morning below.

He looks so grown up! I'm a bit sad that his pretty long hair is gone, but hey, it's just hair right? Thanks again Rippees Barber Shop!
